Yesterday I came home for the day only to realize the bmw emblems on my front rims were gone. I'm assuming this happened at cbc, and I would like to thank whoever it is that took them. I definitely didnt like those at all... Black and white roundels, I will miss you.
Today, right after I put $25 dollars of gas in my car, I accelerated going home only to realize that the temperature of my engine liquid was IN THE RED. It then backed off to normal, but the next two times I had to accelerate the temp jumped again, so it looks like I will be taking my car into the shop soon, and driving the van tomorrow.
This dumb event coming the day after I wrote a paper for English 101 saying I think everything happens for a reason because of God's plan. What could possibly be the plan in this? I may never know.
On a brighter note, I was doing regular t.a. duties today when one of my favorites in the class, a little asian girl named Shay who I also had in my sunday school class 2 years ago, came up to me, and handed me a piece of paper that had a good number of scissor cuts in it. Just cuts, no cut out parts, with one fold in the paper and some cuts along that fold.
"It's a snowflake." Shay says.
"That's very cool." I replied, as I usually do when kids show me stuff they made.
"For you." She says.
"Well thank you!" I exclaimed, honestly happy about it.
Seriously, I hate saying this, but that is that is so freakin cute! I'm totally keeping that piece of paper. Even if it is probably the worst snowflake I've ever seen, it really is the thought that counts in this case.
Musically, I just found out today, but Tooth and Nail just released Happy Christmas Vol. 5. Basically, it's a bunch of covers of Christmas songs. It features, as usual, a bunch of dumb songs by punk bands like hawk nelson. But, It also features a song by emery that I havent heard. More importantly, it features Zat You Santa Clause by Neon Horse, which is the best Christmas song since Project 86's Christmas EP, and You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch by Queens Club, which is also ridiculously awesome. So I'm pretty stoked about that.
Anyway, thats all I have for tonight

Fall Ball and the Cops
Well well well, interesting day today, so I have a few topics to write on. But first, I'm going to give Bryan another shout out since his bday party was pretty fun on Saturday. He just always knows the right things to say.
Church was pretty normal today, talked about Jesus and stuff. But I need to find something to do for 2nd service because I dont enjoy just standing around. I'm hoping I can figure out what I'm doing worship team wise so I can either play 2nd service or teach some little tikes again.
Now, Victor is out of town. I clean Apple Family Medicine with Victor every week. Victor turns off the alarm every week. Victor gives me the code to turn off the alarm. Simple, right?
Well I had one of those nice moments where you cant figure out how to do something REALLY easy. I came into the office, and the alarm went off like usual, so I went to go turn it off. I couldnt figure out how to open the casing to get to the keypad!!! SOOOO i took more than like 20 seconds to turn off the alarm, and it got louder than normal, but I finally figure it out and got the alarm off.
I texted victor about this situation, here's the text i get back 'Well if they arent there already the police are probably coming.'
Cool.
Sure enough, the cops decided to show up, I saw the officer looking in the window and so I came out, 409 bottle and rag in hand. Anyway, the officer and the backup that always comes got it figured out, and I was able to go back to work. The officer did comment on my kicks though, so we talked about his original Jordans when he was a kid. You might be like, okay that's a really anticlimactic story, and yeah, it is. But it reminds me of that ridiculous George Gee commercial. You know, the one with the lady that barely opens her mouth to talk. "As much as I liked the cops, I didnt want to spend all day with them."
On to another subject of the day. Now, whenever I will talk about Liberty bball I will not give deep opinions on how we played, how we practiced. I have them, but I may or may not have gotten in trouble for them last year. So that's my warning. yea liberty!, or 'that was a tough loss' is pretty much what I'll say.
Anyway, we had a tough loss today to Grandview in fall aau. The refereeing was as expected in fall aau, kind of lenient to say the least. I am not complaining, because I understand that I just have to take it in stride and play better. But I'd like to point out attitudes at foul calls and when shots are made. I'm sick of them. Seriously, if you don't agree with a call, laugh it off, say 'eh whatever.' Don't go complaining to the referee, yelling "No, no , no, that's a trbl call!" You wont get the call changed, people just think you like to complain, and they dont like you for it.
When you make a 3 pointer or a nice layup, dont strut back down the court, "And 1, fool." Don't glare at the guy guarding you like you are so much better than him because you made that 1 shot. ITS FALL AAU FOR HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL! No one cares. You are not Kobe Bryant, or Lebron. Get over yourself.
I want to see one stud high school player that doesnt act like he is all that. I would be amazed.
I'm sorry, it's pretty obvious that this bothers me, more than I should let it. If you do it as a joke, I understand. Just don't start being serious about it. I think it's important as Christians to have a different attitude on court. One that doesnt whine and complain, or act like hot stuff when they make a good play. It's sad that sportsmanship has dipped so low, but if we as Christians just went out and played the game right, people would be able to see Christ through our actions just because no one else acts like that.
That's my opinion, take it or leave it

CBC
Two days of CBC have gone by, and I'll be honest, it's more fun than Liberty. At least so far. And I know more people than I do at Liberty, which isnt saying a lot with several thousand CBC students and 70 Liberty high schoolers. All I have to take is Calculus, which I already learned I just need the credit, and English Composition, which requires work but I think will be pretty easy. I mean, today was the first class and I got to spend the lst hour of class writing about what makes a good song.
Most people in the morning are young, a few years within my age. So that is pretty sweet. Almost everyone at night? Not so much. I could be some of their children, which makes it weird to have the same class. Unlike Community, though, I'm the odd one out. Also unlike Community, the Running Start students do not annoy the crap out of the other students. At least as far as I can tell.
My first class is at 10:20. Parking is full by 8:30. I had to park out at the observatory. The OBSERVATORY!! They purposefully have that placed away from the other buildings, it's a nice walk.
I have yet to see Joel McHale, and that disappoints me. On the bright side, I did see Trey(DAWG!) from the club today. It was nice to hear him cussing at someone on his cell phone, it's nice to know people that act the same everywhere they go...
So I realized again yesterday that when my attitude on the court starts to suck, my play starts to suck. And I don't think it's the other way around. Like all people that shoot a lot, I get on hold and cold streaks. It happens to the best, but if I let myself get dissapointed and angry when I'm off, I generally stay off. If I say, 'eh whatever, I know what I did wrong, I'll fix it next time,' I tend to get back into the groove faster. This is a constant battle for me, and if you ever see me getting really mad on the court, please remind me. Basketball is so mental, just like almost everything in this life, and if your state of mind is right, you will play better all around.
If anyone has a band that they are just crazy about, please tell me and I'll check them out. I love finding new music and I've been on a dry spell recently. So anytime you think of a band, hit me up. However, no country, preferably no rap but I won't say there isn't any cool rap out there.
Last note, The Office, 30 rock, and Community are on this week I think. At least 30rock and Community. It will be awesome.

Homecoming invitation
So I've had a lot of things happen this weekend, i know I'll forget something but whatever
I'll start with Friday. We had Scott Smiley come to school, which was pretty sweet to hear from him. I cannot believe that a 4th grade girl asked him, after 40 minutes of speaking, "Are you still blind?" Yeah, obviously not the most observant person haha.
Friday afternoon: I had an interview with my optometrist, Miles McCartney, about career stuff. Likes, Dislikes, Competition to get into college, you know, basic stuff. So that got me pretty excited about being an optometrist, and I get to go in on October 15 to shadow him, which is going to be tight.
Friday night: We beat prep!!! Honestly, I was not expecting that at all, because prep is supposed to be really good. So I guess I underrated our football team.
Then we went to IHOP. I normally wouldnt bring up where i went to eat, but for some reason it seems like after football games I need to eat, a lot. I normally eat a decent amount, not a ton, but friday nights I have been destroying my meals. Its ridiculous. I then procede to mooch food off of other people, which is always interesting.
I dominate at volleyball. Nuff said.
I went to Hannah Croskreys house for her 18 bday party, which was pretty cool. We watched disturbia, so I now know how to be a grade A stalker. Then we hung out, played some board games from childhood. It was a nice experience.
I went to NVC this morning, since it is my last week of summer schedule at bethel. Next week teaching starts, but I might not teach as much this year. It was the opening week of New Vintage, and Matt Molt gave a great sermon on grace. Afterwards there were delicious pastries and some Pikes Place Roast Coffee. I love a church that knows whats up in the coffee area.
I then went to Bethels youth group Intersect again since I knew it would be a regular week. Thank God, I was quite pleased to find a normal youth group with a sermon, worship, and break out groups. I appreciated it.
I got home, and decided it was time to execute the paln that I had been formulating throughout the day. It was time to ask Danielle to Homecoming. At 845. I had debated for a while on how I would ask her. I had an idea from Scott Pilgrim, an idea from Anchorman, and an idea from Date Night. I decided on Date Night. I grabbed a broom, like the senator in date night, went to her house, and left a broom and a sign that said 'me and this broom, we keep our promises...and we are asking you to HOMECOMING'. So I ding dong ditched and waited for her to see it before coming out. She said yes, so that pretty much made my day.
Sorry to bore y'all with my weekends events if your not into that, but whatever, if you are reading this you obviously didnt get too bored.

Don't worry/ Top 10
I'm pretty excited (though I doubt anyone can tell) because my life is doing pretty good right now. Yeah CBC starts on Monday, and I have work to do for applications and SAT prep, but I'm chill about it. I dont really understand worrying about stuff. It just wastes time. Like, I'm worried about scoring 20 points higher on the SAT to get a better scholarship, but it's sort of an afterthought. Whatever happens, God has a plan. I can prepare all I want, and that's smart, but the outcome is God's deal. I can practice up and get really good at basketball, then tear my ACL (that definitely hasnt happened). But guess what, it doesnt matter because God Got Chu! (Since only one person will get this, its a Jimmy Fallon/Worship Team joke at the same time, dont bother telling me how cool I am). So dont worry, be happy. Tomorrow will worry about itself.
Nice Jack in the Box reunion today, even if there were only four of us. I miss Jack Day, I know i can still go every Friday but it's just not the same. Good times.
Tomorrow is the prep vball game, and I think you should go. I'm planning on being there, which is reason enough to go, but it's always a fun game.
One more little topic, made a new chord progression, I just need to add lyrics and it will be sick.
Now some basketball. Fall ball started on Monday, and I am stoked for that season, its always fun. I made a list of my favorite basketball players the other day, and I know you probably don't care, but I'll share it with you anyways. This is a reference point for my bias, by the way.
1. Stephen Curry
JJ Redick (I cant put one higher than the other, they are both stud shooters)
3. Brandon Roy(the local team star, high bball iq, athletic, team player, fundamentally sound)
4. Chris Paul(best pg in the game)
5. Adam Morrison (needs to play more, but has a special place in my heart for the GU years)
6. Kevin Durant(humble, ridiculously nice, and the best scorer in the NBA)
7. Kevin Love(the new Mr. Fundamental, plus he is a 6' 9" white guy who gets crazy numbers)
8. Austin Daye( same as Morrison, but a bit lesser. Reminds me of Cody Brockman with the tall t's)
9. Steve Nash(Hardest working player in the NBA, 3rd best pg, 36 year old 6' white guy, hilarious, what's not to love?)
10. Ray Allen(one of the best pure shooters ever)
Well, that's my thoughts for tonight. Great win in vball against Desales last night.

This Weekend
So, this weekend, has been pretty sweet. I had a lot of fun and was challenged spiritually. Saturday after the club I checked my phone and had a text from Katie Ellis, inviting me to New Vintage Youth Church. I was like, alright, I kind of want to see whats up with this church Katie keeps posting about. I wasn't really sure what to expect, I'd never been to a church at a house before, but honestly, it was pretty sick. I went with Bryan and we basically just hung out most of the time, met some cool people, made some delicious pizzas, and then the pastor, Matt Molt, gave a pretty good, pretty short message about hearing what God has to say to us. I am definitely planning on going back.
That was cool, then we went to this girl Connie's house and had a bonfire, where I saw some old friends. The weirdest part was, unlike what usually happens, me and Bry Corr actually got involved in conversation. It never broke off into the Liberty circle and the Richland/Hanford circle, which is always annoying. So that ended up being pretty fun too.
Today was the Bethel tailgate party. If you dont know, its a tailgate party(duh) for people to get involved in small groups. Each tailgate is a small group, you can get food from any of them, and you try to find a small group that is good for you to join. It's pretty much amazing since I love food, especially when its really good, free food.
Now for how I was challenged. NVYC's message was to listen to what God is saying to you, Bethel's message today was about putting our faith into practice and growing. You might be thinking, okay Ron, what's so special about that? The point was to listen to what God is telling you, and put it into practice. Not to close your ears so you cant hear what God is saying to you. What the heck? These are two different churches and as far as I know I'm the only one that heard both sermons. So I guess God is trying to tell me something, listen to Him. I don't know what He is going to tell me. I know I have a big year coming up, I was told today I need to send in my application to Pacific in two weeks(yikes), which reminded me of college stuff. So maybe it has to do with my decisions in college, maybe it's just something in my everyday life, I have no idea. All I know is that I'm going to work on listening to God, and if I hear something I'll try to put it into practice.
In the world of basketball, USA won gold in the World Championships!! I showed my national pride by watching the game on ESPN online, yelling at the computer constantly that the refs were completely biased. Which they were, since USA was playing Turkey, in Turkey.Whatever we still won even with trbl officiating, so I'm pretty happy about that, and how good Kevin Durant is. 7 threes? crazy.
In local basketball, it's time for the seniors to pick out team shoes. I decided to go try on the top 2 options at the mall, but they only had the Hyperdunks, not the Air Max Hyperdunks. However, the Hyperdunks are awesome, really light, great ankle support, high quality, and they were red, white, and blue(even though we cant get those colors, they still looked amazing). I think we are going to get them for the team, and I dont think we'll regret it.
That's all for this weekend. Overall, I had a great time.

Quite the day
Soo... an interesting day today.
Start the day with Melanie, it was odd. Very childish songs, strange stories, but all in all it was pretty fun to mess around the entire chapel. She had some story about these kids 'being in the bubble', where these boys were almost the same as each other and needed to be their own person. This makes for a great inside joke, I used it several times today already.
But it brings up an important point. I cannot stand fake people. Be yourself. It even bothers me when people dress a certain way to fit into scenes, when really that's not who the person is. I dont like when people act a certain way around some people and then different around others. But most of all, I cant stand fake Christians. People who say they are Christians but have no foundation, people who act like and talk like Christians then turn and act like jerks, and people who are Christians but make no attempt to show this to the everyday people around them. I realize that everyone is a work of progress, I certainly fail all the time, but the point is to PROGRESS. So be yourself, but try and make yourself more like Jesus everyday, thats my basic point in this little tyrade.
You know your schedule is a little bit easy if you forget to bring EVERYTHING to school, but you are okay. That happened to me today, and it actually worked out. I wont push my luck though because physics is usually harder.
So, I have mentioned that I am a 1st grade t.a. I expected humor from this situation but I didnt expect to get it from outside Liberty. One of the kids in the 1st grade class showed up at the court club today, since his dad was working out. The kid's name is Jacob, and he tends to be a little crazy. So since he knows me, he decides to come and 'shoot'(if you can call a 1st graders throw a shot) on the same hoop as travis, victor, and me. Fine, I told vic and travis who he was, and when we decided to play 21 we told him to shoot on another hoop so he didnt get hurt. Well, he is easily distracted (even moreso than your average 1st grader) and ends up getting in our way a little bit throughout the game. No problem, I just tell the kid to stay at another hoop so he doesnt get hurt.
Well, then 3 other guys show up that I have never seen in my life, so we start a game of 3 on 3. Now its awkward. A little kid is coming up to me and asking how many points I have scored, asking if he can play, generally getting in the way for no reason. I am telling this kid in my best gentle voice 'Jacob, we are trying to play a game right now, so you need to go play on another hoop, so you dont get hurt.'
Are you understanding how this looks weird???
So I can tell these guys are looking at me weird, probably thinking "Really, this guy looks a bit young... but you never know these days." This happens over and over. Kid gets in way, I gently tell him to stay out of our way. Not once did I explain the situation. I am fine when people think I look older, I am slightly creeped out by people thinking I am a dad. Thats all I'm saying.
I went to the Chiawana vs Pasco game tonight. It was a good game for about 3 quarters, then Chiawana sort of blew it open. However, it was pretty tight to see Nick Tidrick get an interception. It's much more fun to watch football games when you know people on the team.
Notes from yesterday to wrap up this post. I finished up FYI, it was really boring and uneventful, but it's still weird to see 40-somethings in the same classes as me. I also found out that Homecoming is October 9, which is also the date of my SAT. Fun. Also, thats not very far off and I dont know who to ask. Also Fun. And today I found out some colleges want early applications in October. Very Fun. Looks like the next month will be pretty crazy for me.
No problem, I just tell the kid to stay at another hoop so he doesnt get hurt.

mostly FYI
For those of you who havent figured this out yet, First Year Introduction at CBC is freakin boring. 3 hours a day for 3 days, talking about basic knowledge stuff and how to work the school assignments online. So basically, no one cares.
I would like to thank Community for being right about EVERYTHING. I even received a speech about how jut because CBC is a community college, it does not mean that their classes arent watered down. I just cant wait for the paintball wars!
Today we had this thing called a module, basically just a short class. My instructor was teaching some stress and relaxation class, adn tsaid it was super easy, that i didnt even have to take notes. So naturally i decided to take the class. I learned that I dont like relaxation techniques. I do like exercise and humor, however, I'm not a big fan of focusing on 1 word for a minute or two and people talking to me about breathing in and out. It's creepy. What I really didnt like was visualizing i was in an elevator, each of 8 floors making myself more relaxed. The teacher would have you close your eyes while doing this, saying different parts or the body to focus on relaxing. This was also very creepy, but the real problem I had was it took about a minute each floor. About floor 5 I couldnt help but be impatient that this was easily the slowest elevator EVER. Needless to say I was rather stressed by floor 1.
I got to go to recess for my t.a. today, and I think I got the little kids to adore me finally. They were playing 'soccer' but basically just kicking the ball back and for as hard as they could to get between two targets a ways away. Let's just say I can kick the ball a lot farther than 1st and 2nd graders.
God Put A Smile Upon My Face by Coldplay is constantly stuck in my head right now. Pretty much. I am not very happy to find out that we dont have worship in chapel for two weeks in a row. I want to play some more guitar.
I am also enjoying shooting at the club in the mornings. I have the court to myself or at least half the court, so I can focus and if I want to play a game I can come in the afternoon. It's pretty awesome, but I cant quite get there by 8:30. I keep getting woken up around 7:20 or 7:30, but I don't get out of bed until 7:48 or 7:49. It's really weird that I keep getting up at that minute, I dont understand.

Labor Day
Well pretty nice day today. I love washing my car, thats about all there is to it. I know it sounds weird but there is something about when the car is all shiny and hot, it's just awesome. Something about cleaning it is relaxing, I dont know why. I feel like every car says something about a person, and I'd like to keep my car clean.
I went to Haydins house today, where we watched Anchorman. That movie is so ridiculous, it's amazing. This gave me an idea. The main characters name is Ron Burgundy, and he always wears suits. Most notably a red suit. They have red suits at Dawson Richards. So... I want to go to homecoming as Ron Burgundy. Victor can be Brian Fantana, Bryan can be Champ, and Nathan can be Brick. It would be me and my news team, heck yeah. I don't know if I will do it, it might be hard to get a girl to agree to go along with it, but come on, it would be so awesome.
On an other note, I have FYI at cbc tomorrow EVENING. I just found out that Bryan, Brook, and Katie have it in the MORNING. I momentarily got confused and excited to actually know people in the class, and then I came back to reality, where I still dont know anyone in the same class and I lost about two hours of work time for my physics lab. Hopefully the lab goes quickly...
Also, I was in a musical mood today. I came up with a pretty sick progression last night, and some lyrics today. I think the lyrs are pretty nice, but I'm never quite sure because I get pretty critical of what I right, For good reason I think. The problem is that I suck at making the chorus! I can make intro riffs and stuff for the verses off that, but it seems like I cant break into a new progression for the Chorus, making it sound like the verses, which I hate. I'm not sure what to do with this, I guess it just takes work. Oh well, at least it's something I enjoy doing.
One last thing. USA! USA! USA! Angola got owned!!

Sunday School
Look, here's the deal.
I need to decide what i want to do for Sunday School this year. I have taught 5 year olds the past 2 years. They are awesome and the group of teachers that we have are super cool, but I like the group of kids in my first year more. This is not to say that last years group was bad, they just had a lack of awesome kids. Some cool kids, maybe 1 or 2 awesome kids (probably two guys named evan and jackson), but i honestly got annoyed with their class sometimes. Since they are 5, they dont follow instructions well, so i found myself with several very hard weeks to deal with, and i will not go into detail about it. So do I take another shot at a new group of 5 year olds, risking some not pleasant times, do I move up to first grade to the class I liked best and that I t.a. for at Liberty, or do I play to another strength(possibly) and do some kind of music ministry? I will definitely have to pray about it because I'm sure God has some awesome way for me to grow in this next year.
So I went to Intersect tonight. If you dont know what that is, it's bethel's youth group. I have only gone twice, and I always feel like I choose the wrong weeks to go. I don't know a lot of people there, and the people I do know I either haven't talked to them in a long time or they are underclassmen, which also means I haven't talked to them in a long time. Last time I went we played dodgeball, which wouldnt be trbl if it wasnt the MAIN EVENT. I like dodgeball, but not for a whole hour when I could be at home, playing basketball, guitar, watching tv, or writing boring blogs. This time, they just watched Kung Fu Panda. Ummmmmm.... Kay. I would like to just experience a normal week, you know, worship, a little sermon, meet a few people so I'm not a loner. I don't know if that seems reasonable.
This brings me to the music section for the day. All I've got to say is that if you have not hear Come All You Weary by Thrice, and you are cool with slowish meaningful songs, listen to it now. Personally, it's one of my favorites. If you don't like it, whatever.
Now for a few short rants. I do not want to go to Shari's after football games. They hate us. The cool kids prefer Denny's, where people treat you with kindness, almost like they want your business. And Denny's has better food.
Also, I have been told by my all-time favorite sports writer Charlie Rosen (that's called sarcasm, kids) that the new shoes nowadays are the reason more people are tearing their acls, and getting more knee injuries in general. That canvas shoes, though they offer less support, would allow more freedom for the ankle to move (making for less pressure on the knee supposedly). This would make sprained ankles more common, ACL tears less common. Thanks for the info Charlie! I just bought myself a pair of Chuck Taylors to replace my Kevin Durants and Nike hyperizes! Now I know that I wont have to worry about any serious injuries with those truly safer shoes!
That's good for today.

Soul
5 days down, 175 to go... but really, this school year should be pretty sick. Mainly bball, and only having three classes for a good part of the year. So basically, me and Bryan (Bri Corr, Bri Bear, whatever you prefer) have been chilling every morning since we dont have to go to class til after lunch. We didnt hang out today because of a couple things, but we have already gone to the club a few times, gone to my house, and watched Ghost Town already. So thats been pretty sick the past few days so i wanted to give Bryan a shout out.
Now, I learned yesterday that The Devil Wears Prada's Zombie EP reached number 10 on the billboard 200. That, is ridiculous. I'm pretty sure that's not supposed to happen for an EP, especially one that isnt sold in a lot of stores. Anyway, I'm glad to hear tdwp is doing well, since they are pretty much awesome.
I got a Coldplay mix CD from victor. I have not quite made it through the whole thing yet, but I'm very close and its very good.
This section is dedicated to my opinion on music. Agree or Disagree if you want. I would enjoy a comment sometime, just saying. Here's the deal, music without soul is so boring. Complicated songs with crazy hard guitar solos can be really annoying if they don't have soul. I don't really know how to define soul, but you know when it's there.
There is also beauty in simplicity sometimes. I know how cliche and dumb that sounds, but its true. It works to be simple sometimes, it gets a point across. But please dont always be simple. Too much complicated, fast stuff and it just becomes noise, Too much simple stuff, and people think thats all you can do.
For all I know, Nickelback and Green Day could be composed of very talented people. I doubt it, but they could be. These are very famous, successful examples of too little soul, and too much simplicity.
However, I know Coldplay, Tom Morello, and Thrice are talented. Soul, Simplicity, and they arent afraid to bust out some sick complex stuff every once in a while.
The Classic Crime, Nirvana, Project 86. Not the most talent in the world, but soul that you can respect.
Thats enough rambling for today. Thanks for reading, all 4 of you.

Clubbin'
So if you didnt know this, and I'm assuming that most people who will read my blog will know this, i go to the columbia basin raquet club for about 3 hours a day. This consists of several hours of basketball and an hour to an hour and a half of lifting weights. Some people(travis), think this is crazy, but I just love exercise. It feels good.
During the summer its usually just me, travis, and victor on the court; making it easy to do drills and get a set amount of shots in. However, once the school year rolls around, people start coming in after school, making for some good pickup games. Luckily, these players are usually pretty good, varsity players on their respective teams. The last few days, strangely, have started to feel like an elementary school playground. We will get a good amount of guys shooting around, and then when we start to play, its like 'lets just pick out the best players in the gym 1 by 1 to play.' So several people are left just shooting around while this group plays 3 on 3 or whatever. Ill admit, i enjoy the good competition, most of the guys are pretty cool, and i dont like playing with people that cant keep up. But this seems a little ridiculous to me, just an opinion, and i feel like an a-hole if i go play and leave people I'm shooting with by themselves. I'm not totally sure what to do about this...
Done with seriousness and rambling for now, so on another note: Today was the first chapel of the school year. We played a decent set, it was an all school chapel, and it seems to me like the little kids get more into the worship. I think that is part of why Jesus said to have the heart of a child. That is not the reason i am bringing this up. I played guitar as usual, and when i got to my t.a. mrs shaddix asked how many of her 1st graders saw me on stage. about half raised their hands. So Im already like 'oh great, this is such an observant group...' Then she took the question to a whole new level "what was aaron playing?" the first response was drums. WRONG. Well they did get it right after that but I felt officially owned, by a group of 1st graders. There's my story for the day.
Lastly, on to music. I am starting to like Coldplay more, and i agree with Victor that The Scientist is pretty much awesome. Also, i used to listen to the radio more, and i remember this band Edison Glass from a while ago, and i didnt like them much back in the day. I remember thinking they sounded a bit different, but since thats what im starting to like more nowadays, i decided to check them out again. I think i will get an album soon, because they are pretty tight.
I still love hardcore music, screaming is still cool, but i find myself listening to it less. One reason is I am branching out, listening to a more of a variety of music. Another reason is that i have a constant urge to sing along with whatever i am listening to, and i CANNOT scream. I can muster up maybe 1 per song, but entire verses make me want to throw up and not sing anymore.
Well thats all folks
