Well well well, interesting day today, so I have a few topics to write on. But first, I'm going to give Bryan another shout out since his bday party was pretty fun on Saturday. He just always knows the right things to say.
Church was pretty normal today, talked about Jesus and stuff. But I need to find something to do for 2nd service because I dont enjoy just standing around. I'm hoping I can figure out what I'm doing worship team wise so I can either play 2nd service or teach some little tikes again.
Now, Victor is out of town. I clean Apple Family Medicine with Victor every week. Victor turns off the alarm every week. Victor gives me the code to turn off the alarm. Simple, right?
Well I had one of those nice moments where you cant figure out how to do something REALLY easy. I came into the office, and the alarm went off like usual, so I went to go turn it off. I couldnt figure out how to open the casing to get to the keypad!!! SOOOO i took more than like 20 seconds to turn off the alarm, and it got louder than normal, but I finally figure it out and got the alarm off.
I texted victor about this situation, here's the text i get back 'Well if they arent there already the police are probably coming.'
Cool.
Sure enough, the cops decided to show up, I saw the officer looking in the window and so I came out, 409 bottle and rag in hand. Anyway, the officer and the backup that always comes got it figured out, and I was able to go back to work. The officer did comment on my kicks though, so we talked about his original Jordans when he was a kid. You might be like, okay that's a really anticlimactic story, and yeah, it is. But it reminds me of that ridiculous George Gee commercial. You know, the one with the lady that barely opens her mouth to talk. "As much as I liked the cops, I didnt want to spend all day with them."
On to another subject of the day. Now, whenever I will talk about Liberty bball I will not give deep opinions on how we played, how we practiced. I have them, but I may or may not have gotten in trouble for them last year. So that's my warning. yea liberty!, or 'that was a tough loss' is pretty much what I'll say.
Anyway, we had a tough loss today to Grandview in fall aau. The refereeing was as expected in fall aau, kind of lenient to say the least. I am not complaining, because I understand that I just have to take it in stride and play better. But I'd like to point out attitudes at foul calls and when shots are made. I'm sick of them. Seriously, if you don't agree with a call, laugh it off, say 'eh whatever.' Don't go complaining to the referee, yelling "No, no , no, that's a trbl call!" You wont get the call changed, people just think you like to complain, and they dont like you for it.
When you make a 3 pointer or a nice layup, dont strut back down the court, "And 1, fool." Don't glare at the guy guarding you like you are so much better than him because you made that 1 shot. ITS FALL AAU FOR HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL! No one cares. You are not Kobe Bryant, or Lebron. Get over yourself.
I want to see one stud high school player that doesnt act like he is all that. I would be amazed.
I'm sorry, it's pretty obvious that this bothers me, more than I should let it. If you do it as a joke, I understand. Just don't start being serious about it. I think it's important as Christians to have a different attitude on court. One that doesnt whine and complain, or act like hot stuff when they make a good play. It's sad that sportsmanship has dipped so low, but if we as Christians just went out and played the game right, people would be able to see Christ through our actions just because no one else acts like that.
That's my opinion, take it or leave it
I'm going to start doing that from now on. Every shot that I make is going to be hyped up like I just hit a buzzer beater to win the NBA finals
