Soul

5 days down, 175 to go... but really, this school year should be pretty sick. Mainly bball, and only having three classes for a good part of the year. So basically, me and Bryan (Bri Corr, Bri Bear, whatever you prefer) have been chilling every morning since we dont have to go to class til after lunch. We didnt hang out today because of a couple things, but we have already gone to the club a few times, gone to my house, and watched Ghost Town already. So thats been pretty sick the past few days so i wanted to give Bryan a shout out.
Now, I learned yesterday that The Devil Wears Prada's Zombie EP reached number 10 on the billboard 200. That, is ridiculous. I'm pretty sure that's not supposed to happen for an EP, especially one that isnt sold in a lot of stores. Anyway, I'm glad to hear tdwp is doing well, since they are pretty much awesome.
I got a Coldplay mix CD from victor. I have not quite made it through the whole thing yet, but I'm very close and its very good.
This section is dedicated to my opinion on music. Agree or Disagree if you want. I would enjoy a comment sometime, just saying. Here's the deal, music without soul is so boring. Complicated songs with crazy hard guitar solos can be really annoying if they don't have soul. I don't really know how to define soul, but you know when it's there.
There is also beauty in simplicity sometimes. I know how cliche and dumb that sounds, but its true. It works to be simple sometimes, it gets a point across. But please dont always be simple. Too much complicated, fast stuff and it just becomes noise, Too much simple stuff, and people think thats all you can do.
For all I know, Nickelback and Green Day could be composed of very talented people. I doubt it, but they could be. These are very famous, successful examples of too little soul, and too much simplicity.
However, I know Coldplay, Tom Morello, and Thrice are talented. Soul, Simplicity, and they arent afraid to bust out some sick complex stuff every once in a while.
The Classic Crime, Nirvana, Project 86. Not the most talent in the world, but soul that you can respect.
Thats enough rambling for today. Thanks for reading, all 4 of you.
