This Weekend

So, this weekend, has been pretty sweet. I had a lot of fun and was challenged spiritually. Saturday after the club I checked my phone and had a text from Katie Ellis, inviting me to New Vintage Youth Church. I was like, alright, I kind of want to see whats up with this church Katie keeps posting about. I wasn't really sure what to expect, I'd never been to a church at a house before, but honestly, it was pretty sick. I went with Bryan and we basically just hung out most of the time, met some cool people, made some delicious pizzas, and then the pastor, Matt Molt, gave a pretty good, pretty short message about hearing what God has to say to us. I am definitely planning on going back.
That was cool, then we went to this girl Connie's house and had a bonfire, where I saw some old friends. The weirdest part was, unlike what usually happens, me and Bry Corr actually got involved in conversation. It never broke off into the Liberty circle and the Richland/Hanford circle, which is always annoying. So that ended up being pretty fun too.
Today was the Bethel tailgate party. If you dont know, its a tailgate party(duh) for people to get involved in small groups. Each tailgate is a small group, you can get food from any of them, and you try to find a small group that is good for you to join. It's pretty much amazing since I love food, especially when its really good, free food.
Now for how I was challenged. NVYC's message was to listen to what God is saying to you, Bethel's message today was about putting our faith into practice and growing. You might be thinking, okay Ron, what's so special about that? The point was to listen to what God is telling you, and put it into practice. Not to close your ears so you cant hear what God is saying to you. What the heck? These are two different churches and as far as I know I'm the only one that heard both sermons. So I guess God is trying to tell me something, listen to Him. I don't know what He is going to tell me. I know I have a big year coming up, I was told today I need to send in my application to Pacific in two weeks(yikes), which reminded me of college stuff. So maybe it has to do with my decisions in college, maybe it's just something in my everyday life, I have no idea. All I know is that I'm going to work on listening to God, and if I hear something I'll try to put it into practice.
In the world of basketball, USA won gold in the World Championships!! I showed my national pride by watching the game on ESPN online, yelling at the computer constantly that the refs were completely biased. Which they were, since USA was playing Turkey, in Turkey.Whatever we still won even with trbl officiating, so I'm pretty happy about that, and how good Kevin Durant is. 7 threes? crazy.
In local basketball, it's time for the seniors to pick out team shoes. I decided to go try on the top 2 options at the mall, but they only had the Hyperdunks, not the Air Max Hyperdunks. However, the Hyperdunks are awesome, really light, great ankle support, high quality, and they were red, white, and blue(even though we cant get those colors, they still looked amazing).  I think we are going to get them for the team, and I dont think we'll regret it.
That's all for this weekend. Overall, I had a great time.
