Several things have happened in the past few days.
First off, I bugged my knee playing bball this week, doing basically my normal drills. I think this came from that workout on Sunday that I mentioned in my last blog. So I am on all leg workout rest til my Physical Therapy appointment Tuesday morning. No shooting, no exercises, just to let the knee rest til my therapist can check it to make sure nothing is wrong. I would like some prayer for that, just because though nothing is probably wrong, just some scar tissue breaking up or a small tweak most likely, I am now officially scared to say that everything is fine after the last time I did that. And pray that it heals up and doesnt bother me again. That would be very appreciated.
Now, on a more positive side, at least I think so, I started doing more recording. I am currently just using the guitar hero USB mic on garage band, but it is better than nothing. I wont lie, it is pretty hard, because I am never quite happy with the sound of my voice on the songs, but I try to get them to where I can accept it. I know with my high tech equipment and the angelic voice that I have you would think it would be no problem to record. Oh well, I did manage to already put out 2 songs so they are at: http://www.purevolume.com/Accolades70796
So give those a listen if you want to. Yes I chose the name Accolades for my band name. I got the idea a while ago and then was making a profile spur of the moment yesterday and just decided to use that name.
I was reading some C.S. Lewis again the other night and I came upon a chapter called The Shocking Alternative(yes that is the album name for one of my songs). In two of the paragraphs, Lewis says "God has made us:invented us as a man invents an engine." I will just summarize what he said from there, but he says an engine was made to run on gasoline, it doesnt work properly trying to run on other stuff. Well, same with humans, except we were designed to run God. He is what is meant to fuel our lives, our motives, everything. Yet we try to run on all kinds of juice. That's why even the most powerful nations fail, because they are trying to run on something other than God.
I like that analogy, and since I have been reading in Corinthians about building your spiritual temple out of the right stuff, and I have been thinking about worshipping God in basketball and other activities, this ties in perfectly.
Okay, so I dont know what the deal is, or what God is trying to tell me. I never hear the story of Gideon, I know it of course, but it is not commonly told. Two times this week, first at new vintage and then the next day in worship team, the same story popped up. The story of Gideon being used by God even though he didnt think he could, and then using the 300 troops to defeat thousands in order to show God's glory. So I don't know what God is trying to tell me with that, but I will be keeping my ears open.
